To create a fascinating visualization of one of the new musical releases from the Universal Production Music studio. The animation visually interprets the music while introducing the name of the release.

A Look Back

Concept

concept 01 : The Coner

The music chosen doesn't have much rhythm and is very quiet. So it creates a quiet scene. 10 seconds of animation contains rain animation, shaking of plants. I wanted to create a nice space for the audience to enjoy the music.

The music chosen gave me a sense of flow, a feeling that reminded me of the flow of the view out of the window on a train ride. The name of the music is a look back, the frame is the unbreakable present and the birds are the flowing memories that can go back to the past.

Decisions & Challenges

Based on my music choices and the advice of the art director, I chose to go in the direction of concept 1 for further animation. I wanted to do this in a form of animation that fit better with my stylistic styleframe and chose to do cell animation.

1st Pass Styleframe

A quiet and beautiful environment created by music, animation will be dominated by rainwater animation and statue animation

Final Styleframe

Based on art diractor's comments, I modified the composition of the environment to have more fissures and growing vines around the statue to show that it's a corner that no one knows about

1St Pass Animatic

Cell rain animation is the main focus. According to the art director's suggestions, depth will be added, as well as camera movement through the scene.

2nd Pass Animation

At this stage I finished the animation of the first shot and the 3d camera movement, and my art director suggested that to make the animation more uniform, it could show the animation of the rain hitting the plants at the beginning, as well as the addition of the depth of the main scene.

3rd Pass Animation

At this stage, the general animation was complete. art director then went further and gave me more detailed suggestions: the rain animation could also incorporate z space, where the camera goes through the plants instead of overlapping them.
